I highly recommend Steve for any home remodeling work. Steve has remodeled three of the bathrooms in our home. Each bathroom turned out beautifully, and he guided us through decisions, steering us towards finishes that would work better for us, and helping us think through the little details we missed. 

One thing I especially appreciate is that Steve is flexible with purchasing materials. He allows us to purchase them ourselves, which helped us manage costs and stay within budget without sacrificing quality. That level of transparency and partnership is hard to find. Also, he is good with my dog!

In addition to the work in my home, Steve also completed a variety of projects at my mother-in-law’s house. In this case, we needed him to handle procuring materials for us, which he did at a fair cost. Steve made it easy for us, running all changes by us, and when there was an issue with a subcontractor install, Steve made it right. 

Overall, Steve is easy to work with, communicates clearly, and consistently follows through on what he says he’ll do. It’s not always easy to find someone who combines skill, reliability, and integrity, but Steve absolutely does. I lived in a two-story historic loft downtown Denver for nearly 20 years. During this time, I had the pleasure of engaging with Steve at MacMillan Home Services multiple times for major updates and improvements to the loft. 

One major project involved removing an entire partition wall on the main level, laying down hardwood flooring, and exposing certain elements of the vertical wooden beams and ductwork that had been covered with drywall encasings. What is exceptional about Steve is that I didn’t need to give him instructions on every detail, but only the general concept and trusted him to use his judgment on the esthetics. He usually had better ideas than me when it came to the details. That project was a huge success and greatly changed the look and feel of the space to a more open, pleasing flow and revealed a lot more of the space’s historical charm. 

Another major project included the renovation of the master bathroom. I had a general idea of what I wanted done centering on certain contemporary stone and tile work as well as creating an open shower area and separate tub replacement. Once again Steve was excellent at coming up with ideas and bringing in different specialty contractors to give me some choices in which direction to go. This project was another success, and I was very pleased to say the least. 

Working with Steve is a pleasure. You can trust his judgment, work ethic, honesty, and staying within budget.

After a pipe freeze at a duplex that I owned in Arvada, my plumber recommended Steve and MacMillan Home Services. Steve did a great job, good work and good communication.  The job was finished on schedule with extra attention paid to not only rebuilding the bath, which involved reframing and insulating walls, installing tile and painting, but he also made sure the walls were insulated in a way to prevent further freezes.

A few years later, I used Steve again to get the duplex ready to sell: paint, new floors, deck rebuild and lots of small fixes. 

Then when I bought a replacement condo, I hired Steve for a complete remodel: new exterior and interior doors, windows, floors, paint, bathroom vanity, dishwasher, kitchen cabinet — a full range of work. I live on the Western Slope and my adult disabled daughter lived in both the duplex and then the condo. Steve sent photos and communicated about scheduling and progress so that I didn’t need to travel. The estimates for the work were detailed and thorough and the timelines were met — with no surprise billing at the end.
